Solid Panel Shutters in North Wootton
We recently installed a set of solid panel shutters in the heart of rural Somerset for one of our customers. The home is a restored old mill, so solid panels really complement the age of the property.
Situated in undulating Somerset farmland, North Wootton is a beautiful little village just minutes away from the Glastonbury Festival site at Worthy Farm. St Peter’s Church, which dates from the 12th century, is at the village centre, and the river Redlake runs nearby.
During their free survey, we helped the customer make informed decisions on their shutters which would complement their interior design choices and requirements for their home.
Working with the customer to decide on style and colour choices, we surveyed 3 bedroom windows and 1 dressing room window, installing solid panel shutters in each. When open, this shutter style lets in all external light, virtually blocking all of it when the panels are closed.
The material chosen was Fiji, made from the premium paulownia hardwood, as the customer saw that it was much lighter than MDF. The customer chose Sea Mist as the colour to compliment their soft finishings.
For the panels themselves, the raised centre section was a requirement, rather than design choice, due to the way the shutters are crafted. The shutter accessories of hinges and ring pulls were in stainless steel as a contrast to complete the look.
Here is what our customer had to say: “There are many shutter suppliers nationwide I chose Shuttercraft Somerset as I wanted to support a local company. I was very pleased with their efficiency and help when ordering the shutters, and the installation was neat and tidy.”
